National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST) held the “2024 Lucky Year-of-the-Dragon New Year’s Eve Event” on February 6 for international students who were unable to return home for the holiday. During the activity the students learned about Chinese New Year culture and received red envelopes from NPUST President Chin-Lung Chang, who personally wished them health, safety, and good studies in the year ahead.

A total of 45 students from 14 countries signed up for the event. The outdoor experiential activities which were organized allowed the participants to meet new friends, experience Taiwan’s unique culture, and enjoy the Chinese New Year atmosphere together.

The NPUST Office of International Affairs also arranged a visit to the “Pingtung 1936 Tobacco Cultural Base” to introduce the foreign students to Pingtung’s historical industries and allow them to experience Taiwan’s rich and diverse leisure and tourism resources. The precious experiences students accumulate during their time spent studying abroad will stay in their hearts and becomes nourishment for the wonderful lives they will create for themselves after graduation.
